This is my second year teaching in England and I have worked with various recruitment agencies across the UK. I came across Aurelia Education by chance when I was searching for jobs through the University Faculty of Education website. I sent an email to Aurelia inquiring about music teaching opportunities in Leeds which is where I have already spent a year. Not hoping for much as my prior experience working with education recruitment agencies has proven to be less than pleasant. Combined with a background in Music and French, subjects that are in much less demand compared to others in England, I knew my chances of landing a music teaching position in a medium size city in northern England. To my surprise, from the first phone call with Aurelia to me landing a job where I was able to teach music at a high school, the process was smooth and hassle-free. Aurelia goes above and beyond finding teachers a job, it is a community where overseas teachers can connect with one another and be supported through the transition of moving to a new country, getting use to a completely different education system and overcoming more-than-expected culture shock.
